    1. Formatting in Wiki Markup

Wiki markup allows you to format text using normal characters like asterisks, apostrophes, or equal signs, which have special functions in the wiki. This guide covers essential text formatting techniques to make your content more SEO-friendly and user-friendly.

      1. Character Formatting

- **Italic text**: Enclose the text in double apostrophes, like this: `italic`

 - Example: This text is *italic*.

- **Bold text**: Enclose the text in triple apostrophes, like this: `bold`

 - Example: This text is **bold**.

- **Bold and italic text**: Enclose the text in five apostrophes, like this: `bold & italic`

 - Example: This text is ***bold & italic***.
      1. Section Formatting

To create section headings of different levels, use equal signs (`=`) at the beginning of the line. Skip Level 1 as it is the page name level.

- **Level 2**: `== Level 2 ==` - **Level 3**: `=== Level 3 ===` - **Level 4**: `==== Level 4 ====`

      1. Lists

- **Bullet list**: Start each line with an asterisk (`*`). More asterisks create deeper levels.

 - Example:

   * Item 1
   ** Sub-item 1
   * Item 2

- **Numbered list**: Start each line with a number sign (`#`). More number signs create deeper levels.

 - Example:

   # Item 1
   ## Sub-item 1
   # Item 2

- **Definition list**: Use a semicolon (`;`) for items and a colon (`:`) for definitions.

 - Example:

   ; Item 1
   : Definition 1
   ; Item 2
   : Definition 2-1
   : Definition 2-2

      1. Preformatted Text

To maintain the format of a block of text, start each line with a space.

- Example:

Start each line with a space.
      Text is preformatted and
      markups can be done.

      1. Paragraphs and Line Breaks

MediaWiki ignores single line breaks. To start a new paragraph, leave an empty line. Use the HTML tag `
` to force a line break within a paragraph.

      1. HTML Tags

Some HTML tags are allowed in MediaWiki, such as ``, `

`, and ``. These apply anywhere you insert them.

- **Inserted text**: Use `` or ``

 - Example: `Inserted` or `Underline`

- **Deleted text**: Use `` or ``

 - Example: `Strike-through` or `Deleted`

- **Fixed width text**: Use ``

 - Example: `Source code`
- **Blockquotes**: Use `

`

- Example:

Text before

Blockquote

   Text after

- **Quotes**: Use ``

 - Example: `This is a quotation`

- **Comments**: Use ``

 - Example: ``
      1. Symbols and Special Characters

Special characters can be inserted using HTML symbol entities. For example:

- Rightwards arrow: `→` → → - Em dash: `—` → —

      1. Images

To display an image to the right, use the `right` option.

- Example:

Lorelai Gilmore is a main character in the television series Gilmore Girls, portrayed by Lauren Graham. She is the daughter of Richard and Emily Gilmore.

Lorelai's best friend is Sookie St. James, with whom she works and dreams of opening their own inn, which they eventually achieve. At sixteen, Lorelai becomes pregnant by Christopher Hayden and raises her daughter, Rory Gilmore, alone. At the start of the series, Lorelai begins a relationship with Rory's English teacher, Max Medina, but their engagement ends when Lorelai and Rory run away before the wedding.

Lorelai later reconnects with her childhood friend, Jason Stiles, who has become her father's business partner. They start dating secretly, but their relationship ends when Jason decides to sue Richard, and Lorelai cannot support this.

Luke Danes, the owner of the local diner, invites Lorelai to his sister Liz Danes' wedding, and they start dating. Lorelai and Sookie successfully open their inn, the Dragonfly Inn, but Lorelai argues with Rory during the test run. They eventually reconcile.
